DSP Ayub Pandith lynching: Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist who insitgated mob killed in encounter
Srinagar Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sajid Ahmad Gilkar, who played a key role in fomenting mob lynching DSP Ayub Pandith, was shot dead by security forces in Budgam district on Tuesday night.
A mob lynched the police officer in Srinagar last month, which provoked outrage and forced the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Mehmooba, to duplicate the crime of “homicide of trust.”

A police spokesman confirmed that Gilkar played a major role in the lynching DSP pandit.
Giving details of the militant Hizbul, the official said, Gilkar was involved in grenade attacks against the CRPF in Nowhatta April 22 from the Khanyar police party on April 30 and the June 21 field of SafaKadal CRPF
Security forces killed three militants – Gilkar and his associates Aaqib Gul and Javaid Ahmad Shiekh – in the Budgam district of J & K.
The operation, carried out jointly by the police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the army, was disrupted after it had fallen overnight. The exchange of shots resumed Wednesday morning.
