Apologise To Woman Collector, Telangana Chief Minister Reprimands Lawmaker

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed anger and anxiety about the alleged “eruptive behavior” of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP of Mahabubabad, Shankar Naik, regarding a female district collector in a formal event.

While the MP denied any fault on his part and said he respected the collector and apologized to her, the officer declined to comment on the whole episode.

A statement issued by the office of M. Rao said: “Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed his anger against the eruptive behavior of Mahabubabad MP Shankar Naik to the district collector.

He found the MLA for his misconduct. The CM expressed his regret and anguish about the incident. ”
Rao asked the legislators of his party to personally meet the collector and to file an unconditional apology, according to the statement.

“The CM has informed the MLA that if they do not change their behavior, they would be suspended from the party,” he said.

Rao asked Minister Kadiam Srihari and TRS MP Sitaram Naik, “to speak to the collector and to resolve the matter on behalf of the government and the TRS.” The CM said that such incidents should not be reproduced, “the statement said.
